SUNO research at HBCU-UP conference 2009

 

Text Box: Text Box: Hurricanes such as Katrina introduce microbial pathogen to Louisiana's waters including coast and New Orleans.
We hypothesized that coastal fish might be infected with fish pathogens such as 
Mycobacterium marinum, Pfiesteria piscicida, Streptococcus iniae and Aeromonas.
 
Colony PCR and microbial staining techniques were used to detect these microbes.
